-------------------------------------------------

Our goal at The Karing Closet of Nevada County is to collect new and gently used clothing, and to package it along with new socks, underwear and a book for foster children referred to us by foster agencies, churches, outreach programs, school principals, teachers, and counselors. We are hoping that through donations we can also provide basic toiletry items such as toothpaste and toothbrushes. We are committed to making this a "faceless" operation. We do not have any contact with the children or their families (unless contacted directly and need is verified through United Way's 2-1-1.) Our hope is that the recipients and their families maintain a sense of dignity and self-respect. Everything will be completely confidential and we, as an organization never need to know anything other than gender and sizing needs.

The Karing Closet of Nevada County is dedicated to improving the lives of local foster children, families of all ages from newborn to 18 years old, by providing clothing and basic necessities to those in need. We strive to walk the talk of Christianity.

Clothes are given freely and joyfully because that is the Christian thing to do...without ANY expectation or judgment. ANYONE - regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious or spiritual belief, marital status, politics, economic standing or addiction will be JOYFULLY assisted by TKC. No one will ever be turned away for any reason, save a lack of inventory, but even that will not stand in the way of us doing everything we can to fulfill your needs.

Our Guiding Motto is rooted in Jesus' teachings found in the book of John, Chapter 13: Verses 34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

The love we wish to share with you at TKC is not predicated on any conversion or religious belief.
